“Justshutit,”Hepleaded,wonderingifhewouldbeabletoputasilencingspellonthedoorwithoutgettingup.Butthentherewasaparticularlylargecrashfromdownstairs,likesomeonehadjustthrownoneoftheirdishestothefloor,andtheyellspickedupatarapidpacewithalotmorevoicesthanhewasexpecting,sohedecidestogoinvestigateinstead,andfindshimselfinaroomofscreamingWeasleys.

AndGranger.She’sthere,too.

“Whatthebloodyfuck,”Hesaid,louderthanheintended,withoutthinkingaboutthewordsthatwerecomingoutofhismouth,because,honestly,whattheactualhell,hewasonlytryingtosleep,thiswashishouse,hehadtherighttotakeanapifhewantedto,andwhyweretheyhere,anyways?Andthenhepanicked,becausewhatrightdidhehavetosaythattohim,hehadnoright,heshouldn’tevenhavecomedownhere,thiswasaprivatething,Harry’sthing,heshouldnotbehere,but—“isgoingonhere?”

Harrywastheonlyonetolookathim,staringupathimwithhisbustedlipandtheplasticbraceletonhiswristthatmeanthehadbeentoSt.Mungo’s,shadowsdeepunderhiseyesandclearlywishingthatthegroundwouldswallowhimup.Everyoneelsefroze,whichgaveDracoagoodopportunitytotakestockofthesituation—GrangerandGinnyandRonclearlyalltakingturnsarguing,Lunastretchedoutacrossthecouch,Seamus(whowashere,forsomereason)gloweringacrosstheroomathim,andGeorgecomingbackfromthekitchenwithaglassofpumpkinjuiceinhishand.

ItwasGinnywhoanswered,glaringatHarry,likethis,whateverthiswas,wasallhisfault.“Harryhadabitofanincidentattrainingtoday.”Hervoicewasdrippingwiththinlyconcealedanger.“Seemsasifhewassotiredhecouldn’tevenraisehiswandtodefendhimself,andgothimselfthrownfiftyfeetintotheairduringaduel.”

Dracostaggeredfullyintotheroom,squintingintothelight,andwhenhegotcloserHarrylookedevenworse.

“Itwasn’tthatbad,”Harryassuredhim,onlyhewaswincinganddidn’tseemtobeabletotakedeepbreaths.
