Dracowastemptedtopinchthebridgeofhisnoseandletoutanexasperatedsigh.Usually,hedidn’tmindBlaisebeingoverlydramatic,buttonight,hedefinitelywasn’tinthemoodforit.

“Whatdidyouexpect?”hemutteredashesippedathiswine.

“Ididn’texpecthimtocleanupsonicely,”Blaisepracticallypurred.

DracopeekedoveratwherePotterwasshakinghandswithdozensofwitchesandwizards,allsmilingbroadlyathim.Onewizardactuallylookedlikehewasabouttopisshimself.Ugh.

“SweetMerlin,hecertainlyismorecharismaticthanheusedtobe,isn’the?”Blaisesaidinanamusedtone.

“Canyoupleasenot?”Dracosaid.HiseyeslingeredonPotter’srobes,thewaypeopleweretouchingthem,asifalltheirsorrowswouldvanishwithjustonetouchoftheWizardingWorld’sgloriousSaviour.Potterdidn’tseemtolikeit.Henoddedandsmiled,butDracocouldtellfromthetensioninhisshouldersandthewearinessinhiseyesthathewasn’tenjoyinghimself.

“Exactly,”Blaisesaidcheerfully,touchinghisglasstoDraco’swithatoothygrin.“Ican’twaittillPottergetstous.”

Honestly,Dracodidn’tsharethesentiment.HewasfarmorecomfortablewatchingPotterfromafar.Hehadbeendoingitforthelasttwohours,hiseyesrarelyleavingthatpoorlytamedblackhairasPottermadehisroundthroughtheroom.Itmayhavebeenabitchildish,butDracowasn’tplayingcatandmouseforhisamusement.Hewasdoingittokeephissanityintact.

Technically,itwasimpolitenottogreetthehostofthepartyfirst,but,ofcourse,PotterhadnoideaDracowasthehost.Nobodydid,exceptforhisclosestfriends.

“Ineedanotherone,”Dracosaid,gesturingtohisemptyglass.“Youwantsomething?”

“Whydon’tyoujustwaitforoneofthosewaiterstocomeby?You’llmissPotterifyougotothebarnow,”Blaisesaid,withoutlookingatDraco.
